We’re thrilled to say,
“SPEAKEASY DINNER CLUB IS BACK!”
Years ago we created this club as an answer to dining in a pandemic. The restaurant world was scrambling to find a way to survive, and so were we. We felt handcuffed creatively & socially—the main problem of being a chef with big ideas is that those ideas quite literally need to be fed. We needed a place to share the craft. Our goal at its inception was to bring people around the table to foster camaraderie & connection in the open mountain air.
This tiny whim of a club changed our lives. It introduced us to people who cared as much about food in Utah as our snobby New Yorker hearts could dream. It gave us hope that Provo could actually be a place to put down roots. Speakeasy Dinner Club expanded our world. It gifted us with four-star travel, core friendships, celebrity clients, and real acclaim, eventually growing into Chef Matt’s loyal fan base at Communal Restaurant when he stepped into the role of Executive Chef and GM four years ago. We’re forever grateful for this little club that could.
Five years later, we still speak about this time of our life in hallowed whispers. We still get weekly dms begging for recipes, or asking when we’ll do them again and how to please, please, please get a ticket? We find ourselves at a crossroads again…
We’re opening a restaurant!
Location is TBD, but we’re taking this year to focus on R&D, inspirational travel & the joy of service. Speakeasy Dinner Club gave us answers to questions we didn’t know we had. In this exciting new world, we know the time has come to “open its doors” once more. We couldn’t be happier to say, “Welcome back!”
Our first dinner of the season will be an eight course menu February 14th, in Downtown Provo
